What Ngala Does

Ngala is a WhatsApp-based business notebook for traders. It turns your messages and photos into a digital ledger, logging sales, expenses, receipts, and inventory. You chat with Ngala on WhatsApp; no separate app or signup.

Data We Collect

When you use Ngala via WhatsApp, we store:

  • Phone number: to identify your business and deliver the service
  • Business name: if you set one
  • Ledger data: sales, expenses, restocks, payments (amounts, products, quantities, payment methods)
  • Contact names: customers or suppliers you mention in transactions
  • Receipt photos: images you send; we extract text to log entries
  • Chat messages: processed to provide the ledger service

How We Use Your Data

We use your data only to run Ngala: to log entries, generate summaries, export inventory, and respond to your requests. We do not sell your data.

Third Parties

Ngala relies on: WhatsApp / Meta (messaging), Convex (database), OpenRouter (AI for understanding your messages), and Vercel (hosting). Their privacy policies apply to their services.

Data Deletion

You can request deletion of all your data at any time. We will remove your business profile, ledger entries, contacts, and any associated data from our systems.

To request deletion:

  1. Email us at support@ngala.dev
  2. Include the WhatsApp phone number you used with Ngala (with country code, e.g. 237XXXXXXXX)
  3. We will confirm and complete deletion within 30 days

After deletion, your data cannot be recovered. If you start using Ngala again with the same number, a new account will be created.

Cookies & Analytics

Our marketing site (ngala.dev) may use analytics (e.g. Vercel Analytics) for basic usage stats. The WhatsApp bot does not use cookies.
